Beating the Odds

It takes guts to continue when nothing seems to be going your way. Think of the Wright brothers in their struggle to invent a flying machine. They worked for thousands of hours on some designs, but many of their test flights lasted only a few seconds. The first flight, by Orville, was only 120 feet long and took 12 seconds. Today a sign hanging in the Smithsonian reads, "As inventors, builders, and flyers they further developed the aeroplane, taught man to fly, and opened the era of aviation." Wow- it was all certainly worth it, wasn't it?
