Reading of The Day!

Playing Fair

"Victory goes to the player who makes the next-to-last mistake."

- Savielly Grigorievitch Tartakower

Most competitions are not blowouts, and sometimes the team way ahead near the beginning of the games loses steam by the end. Other competitions are like fierce battles, with each team gaining ground on each turn. A good philosophy is to just be steady and keep competing because you never know what might happen. Perhaps your opponents will lose their heads, and the game will simply fall into your lap.

TODAY I WILL PICK A FAVORITE GAME AND ASK A FRIEND TO PLAY WITH ME. I WON'T QUIT BEFORE THE GAME IS OVER, AND IF I LOSE, I WON'T POUT FOR AN HOUR AFTERWARD.
